Etiquettes of a typical Bharatanatyam class

Dear Friends,

After about 2.5 years Arpan is starting a new batch for aspiring Bharatanatyam dancers. Here is your chance to join a small but passionate group of dancers.

Arpan classes are known for the following:

  1. Exclusive student group. In the last 3-4 years Arpan has trained only about 15 students exclusively.
  2. A wholistic blend of traditional Bharatanatyam taught with yoga, kinesiology and special emphasis on body type.
  3. Practical dance instruction coupled with theoretical instruction from the Natyashastra.
  4. A chance to learn more about other art forms through our activity sessions (Introduction to Odissi, Kuchipudi, Tanjavur paintings, jewelry making etc).

What do you need to join Arpan?

  1. A keen desire to learn Bharatanatyam in its entirety. Arpan loves dancers with passion.
  2. Dedication, dedication, dedication.
  3. Time committment - not just to class but to personal practice sessions.
  4. Discipline and time management capabilities.
  5. A genuine desire to work hard to realise your best potential in bringing this art form to life.
  6. Any age between 5 -100 yrs :-) but devoid of any serious medical issues that might prevent you from exercising.

Send email to info@joycekpaul.com or joycekpaul@gmail.com by the 10th of October 2007.

There will be an informal mingling session in the mid October where you can ask questions and talk to current students.

Dance with your heart always!
