2.    Pre-requisites

1.    Session I – you need to have learnt Bharatanatyam for at least 2 years or have mastered all the adavus, comfortable with talam and medically fit to attend a dance workshop.

2.    Session II – you should have learnt at least one abhinaya item and are medically fit to attend a dance workshop.

3.    You will be asked to sign a waiver at the start of the workshop.

4.    Please sign up by 5 pm 8th of August by sending email to arpan.arts@live.com. Parking and other logistics will be mailed out to people who register by the 8th. There are only 16 spots on first come first serve basis. Those who make it to the session will be informed over the weekend.

5.    Please apply only if you are sure to attend. That way you are not taking away a precious spot that another dancer might have wanted badly.

6.    Instead of multiple offerings, there will be six 3 hr sessions spread over the week.

7.    Sessions will start at 7 and finish at 10. On the first day everyone can collectively decide if they want to start at 6 for the rest of the days.

8.    Here is how the 3 hrs is going to be split up

1.    Session I - first 1.5 hours

2.    Technique - What makes a certain adavu look good? How can you enhance the beauty of an adavu by changing the technique?

3.    Choreographic skills - How to piece adavus together in a given piece of music/choreography.

2.    Session II - second 1.5 hours

1.    Items - most possibly an Abhinaya item OR Koutvam OR Keertanam OR Pushpanjali

2.    A javali - which will be choreographed as per personal interpretation. More like a creating through experimentation.

9.    Payment information – Payment is required on the first day of the workshop during registration. Payment is accepted in cash or cheques made out to “Prashant Nagaraddi”.
